Jujey's Kentucky Butter Cake!

I got this recipe years ago from my Aunt, it is so easy, yet soooooo delicious!




Here's what the cakes looks like from inside, the brown sugar mixture should soak into the cake




JUJEY'S KENTUCKY BUTTER CAKE

 3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup of softened butter
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
2 tsp vanilla extract

Brown Sugar Glaze
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
2 tbsp water
2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Heat oven to 325, gease and lightly flour pan.
  • In a large bowl mix all ingredients together until softened for 3 minutes at med speed.
  • Bake at 325 for 60-70 minutes.
  •  In a suacepan, combine the following 3/4 cup Brown Sugar, 2 tblsp of water and 1/3 cup of butter. Heat until butter melts, then take off burner and add 2 tsp of vanilla.
  •  When cake is done, prick cake with fork every inch, leaving the cake in the pan, and pour glaze over the cake, let sit for 10-15 min, then take cake out of pan and continue to cool.
  • Eat and enjoy
